About Me

I am a mother of four beautiful children who lives on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. We live on a smallholding where we grow herbs, cut flowers and willow. I run a small craft company and I am a part time freelance writer. We home educate our children and have done so for the past 10 years.

I began writing this blog on the first January 2013 and will write a daily post for the entire year. It will become writing fodder for future articles and a commissioned book. I also write creatively in the form of flash fiction and short stories. I have a novel underway but need to wait until the children are through home school before I can find the time to concentrate on it.

I love flowers and working creatively with them is my absolute passion. I like to live as sustainably as possible and to keep my personal carbon footprint to a minimum. I had a wonderful grandmother who taught me to sew and set me off on a lifetime path of 'make do and mend.'

My daughter, Molly, is my best friend and my three sons (Harry, George and Max) are my inspiration. I am blessed with a great deal of wonderful friends who all keep me grounded and happy.

I adore life and throw everything at it all the time just to see where it will take me. I always enjoy the ride.
